Synopsis

When Daniel aged nineteen, stealthily boards the schooner Emerald Rogue on its approach to the island of Barracrail , he intends to steal some of the cargo it carries, so he can help the suffering population in his home town.

What he doesn’t expect is to find a brass telescope tube he lost eight years ago and central to his father’s death, which he has blamed himself for ever since. Daniel hopes the tube still contains the Treaty, a sacred document stolen from Barracrail. But later in the presence of his best friend Josh, he discovers the tube is empty and is unwilling to forgive himself for losing the very thing his father died to protect.

The plot quickly develops into a rip-roaring adventure, when Daniel decides to uncover the facts concerning the night his father died, and discovers not only why his father was willing to die for the Treaty, but who was so desperate to steal it from Barracrail in the first place. The journey takes Daniel, and his two partners Josh and Erin, through a whirlwind of events and death defying challenges travelling through subterranean worlds, mountains and castles and sailing onboard the beloved Emerald Rogue, a schooner captained by the mysterious Jodan Tasker.

Daniel’s journey is one of finding peace, not only for himself, but as he discovers, also for his own people. The story asks the question of how to live free from the guilt of past mistakes, and answers powerfully through the parallel message of faith and hope.
